The Imperial German musicians such as fifers, buglers and drummers used special equipment for carrying and using music instruments.

Presented here is a rare drum hanger from the Kingdom of Saxon. The hanger was attached at the front of a belt and the drum was clipped onto it. This particular model is Saxon with visible war time repairs. Each Imperial German Kingdom had individual drum hangers differing in details.

The photo on the left shows a group of Prussian musicians with drum hangers.
