World War I German braces
Very interesting and very old braces used to hold trousers. Braces was not a part of the soldier’s equipment however, each man worn braces with his trousers. Any kind of trousers was worn with braces (unterhose, drillichhose) as well as daily field grey trousers. Presents braces does not have any stamps or manufacturer’s mark. The place where they were found – around Metz indicate that there are German braces.
A group photo of the soldiers from L.I.R 23. In two members visible are braces holding theirs pants.
