This pickelhaube is without chinstrap and cockades. The top spikes are removable in pickelhaubes model 1915.

A close-up view of the manufacturer’s stamp on the inside of the skull: Mitteldeutche Gerberei & Reimenfabrik – Neu Isenburg and date 1917. On the internal side of the lining there is a wearer’s name “dzetlewski 4/256”.

On the rear visor there are stamps: R.B.A.18 (Reserve Bekleidungsamt of XVIII Armee Korps) and B.J.A.XVIII f (Bekleidungs Instandsetzung B.J.A.). These indicate helmet repairs.

This pickelhaube had mounting holes moved slightly on the front of the skull (to attach a different eagle).
